Step 1

Step 2

Mix the “thin set”. Following the instructions of the manufacturer, mix the “latex modified white thin set”. It must me creamy and thick in texture. Thin set for glass tiles must be white.

Step 3

Apply the thin set using the flat side of a trowel. Cover only the area that may be tiled in ten to fifteen minutes from the application. Spread the thin set with the use of the trowel’s notched side. Hold it an angle of approximately halfway between forty-five and ninety degrees. This will determine the thin set’s thickness and how much must be applied. Then, gently flatten the thin set to have a smooth and even surface.

Step 4

Set the first glass tile sheet on the thin set, making sure that the tiles are aligned with the marked surface. Use “wooden beaten block” and lightly tap it with the use of a hammer to even the tile surface.

Step 5

Continue with setting the tiles in the same manner as the first tile, and making it even through the use of the “wooden beaten block” and tapping it with hammer. After all the tiles have been set, check for imperfect or chipped tiles. If you find a chip tile, you can remove it by using a screwdriver to lift it off, while holding down its adjacent tiles and being careful not to damage adjacent tiles. Then “back butter” a replacement tile and firmly replace it.

Step 6

Let the tile cure for about twenty-four hours before applying the grout. After the tile has cured, mix the grout. Then, dampen the tiles surface using a sponge –this will make it easier to apply the grout. Apply grout using rubber float, forcing it into the joints and ensuring that the joints don’t have air pockets. Remove excess grout from the tiles by scraping off with the use of rubber float.

Step 7

Let the grout set for about twenty-minutes, make sure it doesn’t stay too long. Then, sue damp sponge to gently clean off the grout from the tile’s face. Let the grout cure completely for twenty-four hours. After it has cured, wipe the surface using dry towel. Finally, apply grout sealer to protect the grout from moisture.
